Postgraduate Options

Postgraduate study is an increasingly popular option for many graduates. Approximately 30 per cent of graduates go on to further study, whether part-time or full-time, research or coursework. If you are contemplating postgraduate study this section provides useful information about postgraduate options in different disciplines.

Sport, Leisure & Tourism

Of the coursework programs in this field there are those aimed at giving specialist skills to those already working in this field, but also plenty of courses designed to convey graduates of related fields into the industry. However, the number of research students in this field has continued to grow, and now forms a larger group than students doing postgraduate studies by coursework.

Tourism, in particular at the postgraduate level, is a new field of study. The numbers studying this around the country are quite low, with most concentrated into postgraduate diplomas and certificates.

If you are interested in any of these fields you should also look at the options in Business & Management or in health-related areas such as Health Services & Support.
