Planning Your Advertising Campaign

Initial Concerns

There are many important issues to consider when planning your advertising campagin. One of the first and foremost is that adequate and accurate information should be presented to potential employees, whether they are new graduates or not. It is very important that this information does not raise false expectations. If it does, your organisation will be ‘smoked out’ and the future of your recruitment strategy will be in jeopardy. Whatever the reasons for recruiting graduates (as future managers, to provide change, or to do a job), little is gained in the long run if the recruits are dissatisfied or feel that your promises were hollow.

Another vital aspect of planning is to ensure that the length of time required to set various stages of the process in motion are understood and allowances made. These stages can include producing, approving and distributing advertising, as well as liaising with university careers services and other on-campus services which will help you reach the target students.
