Annual Survey Cycle
The table below depicts key AGS events during calendar months. It should be noted that at any given time there are ongoing AGS activities in relation to surveys from three different years: the previous year's survey, the current year's survey and the upcoming year's survey.
Although all events in each row take place in the same month of the same year, the table is divided into three columns relating to each year's AGS. Each year's survey involves two distinct rounds of distribution to respondents in October and April. The main parties with responsibility for each activity are shown in brackets after the task.
This table should not be used as a checklist of activities that should be undertaken in any given month. Survey managers should refer to the GCA Methodology documents, located in the relevant year of Conducting the Australian Graduate Survey, to ascertain survey requirements.
Note that tasks in the table relating to Survey Operations Checklists, the annual report on survey conduct or the submission of population data are only in place for the 2009 survey year and beyond, but the others are included for illustrative purposes.
