Virtual Careers Fair 2003
The Virtual Careers Fair (VCF) has well and truly become a pivotal fixture on the graduate recruitment calendar. Now in its third year of operation, VCF 2003 promises to exceed the high standards set in 2002, where over 47,000 unique user sessions were recorded by students from all over Australia and New Zealand.
The VCF has established its credentials as a vital avenue for job searching for many students and graduates, particularly as contact with employers from around the country is now possible from wherever the Internet can be accessed. The VCF is interactive, with hosted forums, chat rooms, games, and the ability for companies to conduct online information sessions.
The VCF has also proved to be a highly cost-effective way for employers to promote their organisations directly to thousands of university students, as most of the traditional costs associated with attending careers fairs are not incurred – there are no travel, accommodation or set-up costs, and no need to pull staff from other important activities. The Fair has the support of most major universities from every Australian State and Territory.
