You can compare starting salaries for different occupations, and find out the destinations of Australian university graduates from both bachelor and postgraduate degrees in all major fields of study Each year, the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations publishes Job Outlook, a useful resource for exploring jobs and careers found in the Careers section of the Australian JobSearch site. For each occupation there is an overview, with more details provided by 'drilling through' to graphs, key indicators (including tasks, hours of work, employing industries, job turnover and employment growth) and job prospects information. Job Outlook also links to the Australian Training site which provides information for about 20,000 education and training courses and directly to vacancies on Australian JobSearch. Job Outlook can be found at http://jobsearch.gov.au/joboutlook . This is not to be confused with Job Outlook, the Department's annual publication which provides a guide to the best available job opportunities. Job Outlook includes a range of indicators for about 400 occupations, as well as information on vacancy trends, skill shortages, industry employment trends and skills for future jobs. It is a valuable resource for parents, teachers, employment services providers, job seekers and career advisers, especially in schools, TAFEs and higher education, helping young people prepare for future work.
