Profile: Welcome to Graham Watson!

In late June, Graham Watson commenced with GCA as our new Publications & Communications Manager. Graham replaces Dugald McNaughtan who recently departed for work and travel in the UK and Europe (and is having a great time by all accounts).

Graham comes to us with a background of over 15 years experience in publishing. This has included senior editorial and project coordination roles with McGraw-HillAustralia, a range of educational and legal publishers, National Parks and Wildlife and WorkCover NSW. Graham also has a number of years experience in banking, retail management and education.

His major roles as Publications & Communications Manager include editing and publishing GraduateGrapevine, Graduate Employer News and Careers ServiceNews as well as the suite of GCA reports (GraduateDestination Survey, Course Experience Questionnaire,Graduate Starting Salaries and Postgraduate ResearchExperience Questionnaire). He will also be involved in all of the GCA publications including our Careers Information booklets, Graduate Recruitment Handbook and the Guide to Campus Recruiting. Graham is also responsible for our website, a major project over the next few months as we reorganise content and appearance. He also has responsibility for the GCA Helpdesk, so if you have any questions…

Hailing from Sydney originally, Graham moved down to Melbourne last year – and loves it! He has recently purchased an apartment in Melbourne’s inner east and had, apparently, been looking for a place with, among other things, a good stove! He loves Melbourne’s restaurants and is a great fan of both The Simpsons and Lost in Space.

Graham attended the Tripartite Conference in Sydney in November (see page 1 for more details) and enjoyed meeting Careers Service people from around Australasia and beyond.
